Responsible travel

Travelling in a responsible way is about making choices that minimise your negative impact on the environment and local communities whilst maximising the positives.

A welcoming world for all

At Sardinian Places, we have always been aware of the impact of tourism on the immediate and worldwide environment, which is why we have always strived to be a ‘green’ company. We continually endeavour to negate any detrimental impacts our business has on our destinations whilst sustaining long-term environmental and social benefits.

We are fortunate to immerse ourselves in diverse cultures and landscapes across all our brands. Therefore, it is our shared duty to honour and support the preservation of their heritage, traditions, and the environment.

Our commitment

We commit wherever possible to:

  • Protect the environment – its flora, fauna and landscapes.
  • Respect local cultures – traditions, religions and built heritage.
  • Benefit local communities – both economically and socially.
  • Conserve natural resources – from office to destination.
  • Minimise pollution – through noise, waste disposal and congestion.

Travelling responsibly

Water bottles

Take a reusable water bottle and hot drink cup, or consider a water bottle with a filtration system.

Plastic bags

Plastic bags are a major source of plight for the environment. If possible, forgo a plastic bag, or carry a reusable bag with you.

Reduce your carbon footprint

We offer a Carbon Offset scheme and by opting in, your donation will help fund our community tree planting scheme.

Save energy

You can save energy by only using lights, air-conditioning, and electrical items when truly necessary.

Preserve water

Help preserve water supplies by only leaving dirty towels and laundry on the floor for washing, having showers and turning off running taps

Respect the culture

Familiarise yourself with the culture and traditions, and learn the basics of the local language. Avoid collecting natural souvenirs like shells or pebbles to take home.

Do not litter

Always dispose of rubbish appropriately. Litter not only looks unpleasant but can also attract vermin and be potentially dangerous to wildlife and people.

Protect nature & wildlife

Act responsibly to protect the natural beauty and wildlife of our destinations for future generations to enjoy. Never feed wild animals.

Taking photographs

Please always ask permission when taking photographs, and respect other guests and locals by keeping noise levels to a minimum at night.
